Hampton University reviews Ocean Waves and Other Tales in their "HU Going GREEN" issue. It states, "Helen H. Kimbrough has written her first children's book entitled Ocean Waves and Other Tales. The book, which is recommended for children from newborn to age five, includes tales of ocean waves, families, baby bears, and more. The illustrations show the characters going through their days from playing in the ocean to getting sleepy at night. The book is accompanied by a music CD that includes an instrumental selection to go with each tale, which makes this bedtime story all the more enjoyable for children."
Ocean Waves and Other Tales is featured in the September Issue of York Region Parent
York Region Parent is a Canadian publication and its review states, "Ocean Waves and Other Tales is a multi-cultural book comprised of four short stories: Ocean Waves, I Am Loved, Baby Bear, and I'm Sleepy.  This is author Helen H. Kimbrough's first book and it has quickly become one of our favourites.  My baby and preschooler both love these stories and equally love the amazing artwork.  My preschooler's favourite story is the Ocean Waves story, as we remember our trips to the Ocean together and think about our upcoming trip to Florida.
The artwork is lovely and nice enough that they would make wonderful framed prints.  The three of us love to cuddle and read these short stories that are engaging enough for a 3 year old, but short enough for a one year old to sit through."
